While the focus of fashion week is undoubtedly on the sartorial, you can always rely on it to point you in the direction of the latest beauty trends on the block too. Make-up artists and hair stylists alike are repeatedly tasked with pairing the latest fashion looks with beauty looks that complement them. Often you'll get glowing skin and barely-there make-up, pared back looks that let the new season collections take centre stage, but every now and again a make-up look arrives that's so radical it grabs more headlines than the clothes.
One particularly avant-garde look came from this weekend's shows in Milan, Versace's catwalk to be specific. Why was it a sensation? It made perhaps the best known sister duo in today's modelling world - Bella and Gigi Hadid - look unrecognisable.
The sisters wore a barely-there, glowing base look - somewhat of a trademark beauty look for both - but traded their usually minimalist eye looks in for a full-frontal, black smokey eye. Consider it a nod to another beauty trend sweeping Fashion season: black swan eyeliner, as seen on Julia Fox and on models at Chanel's couture show in Paris.
As much as the bold liner look is attention-grabbing, the most noteworthy aspect of Bella and Gigi's Versace beauty look was their eyebrows. Or, lack thereof. While it's impossible to tell whether the make-up artists managed to cover Bella and Gigi's eyebrows up completely with foundation or went all the way and bleached them blonde, the transformation is remarkable.

It's an acquired taste, there's no denying that. While most are likely to try their hand at the Black Swan eyeliner, we predict few will be opting hide their brows under their foundation any time soon. We're already quaking in our boots at the news that skinny brows might be making a comeback.
