It’s no exaggeration that the video sharing app has transformed the way we shop for beauty. Expertly curated, personalised ‘For You’ pages mean that the influencers we’re exposed to are more likely to impact our purchases. Whether it’s under-the-radar beauty tips (underpainting, anyone?), Hailey Bieber’s glazed donut nails or the bright red primer that continually sells out on TikTok Shop, if TikTokers are sharing their love for it, then you better jump aboard sharpish. The latest beauty buy making the rounds (again)? Primark's Bond Repair haircare range.
Particularly useful for beauty buffs keen to bag a bargain is TikTok's ability to hone in on dupes and they're often dead ringers for their high end counterparts. But Primark is also getting in on the action once more, having just restocked its sell-out edit of bond building hair products that has amassed 350.3M views on TikTok under the 'Primark Bond Repair' hashtag.
At a first glance, the range looks suspiciously like Olaplex - all priced at an accessible £4.50. Like Olaplex, the Primark range is designed to repair broken bonds caused by styling and bleaching. And, as suspected, TikTok has gone into a frenzy.

Beauty TikToker Alicia Landtested each of the Primark hair products including the PS Pro Bond Repair Mask, £4.50 (a dupe for the Olaplex No.8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask, £28) the PS Pro Bond Repair Oil, £4.50 (a dupe for the Olaplex Bonding Oil, £28) and the PS Bond Pro Repair Pre Shampoo Treatment, £4.50 (a dupe for the Olaplex No3 Hair Perfector, £28) And it's fair to say she was decidedly impressed with the results.
Alicia said, ‘The hair is done and I’m sure you can agree that it looks absolutely stunning. There’s an amazing shine to it which you don’t often get with blonde hair, so I am very impressed. It is also so soft. I was worried as with cheaper products you don’t know if it’s going to dry out your hair or whether or not you could even get a brush through it! But honestly, these products have been so so lovely!’
She then went on to answer the question on everyone's lips – would she choose the Primark Olaplex dupes over the original Olaplex products?
‘I have to be honest,' she said. 'Obviously the Olaplex is better. It’s £28 and you would expect and hope that. However, the Primark ones are really good and they have made my hair feel absolutely amazing. So, if you are on a budget I would definitely recommend these to you guys.’
