You can always count on Holly Willoughby to serve feel-good, practical hair and beauty advice on her social channels, but over the weekend the 41-year-old presenter and wellness brand founder went rogue and threw out the rule book by letting her son Chester, eight, give her a new haircut.
In the video posted to Instagram, Chester is seen chopping off a sizeable amount of her signature golden hair, taking her from mid-length to a shoulder scraping bob. The bold move left followers shocked, friend and model Abbey Clancy commented 'Omg holl !!!!!', while another follower added, 'You are one brave lady Holly!! He looks like he’s quite proficient!!'
The video caused a stir in the comments section. Some followers balked at the idea of Chester being let loose on Holly's hair citing the safety factor, but many were quick to come to Holly's defence, pointing out that her hairdresser was clearly overseeing the whole process, using her hand to ward off any mishaps and ensure that Chester himself safe.
Holly's hair stylist Ciler Peksahis tagged in the video and can be heard in the background giggling, 'careful with my fingers' as she supervises Chester right the way through. Posting the video on to her page too, Ciler notes, 'My little apprentice in the making @hollywilloughby'.
This isn't the first time Holly has enlisted the help of her children mid-beauty venture. In fact, over lockdown her daughter Belle, 11, was snapped applying Holly's make-up as she modelled for M&S during quarantine at home. Talk about a family business.
