What are next year's biggest hair colour trends?
Viva Magenta
You might have heard that 'viva magenta' is 2023's Pantone colour of the year. So it's pretty safe to assume that we'll be seeing some pretty hot pinks taking over our hair salons too. Want to give viva magenta hair a go? Sophia Hilton, founder of Not Another Salon and INNOluxe Global Ambassador warns it's not for everyone. “If you want to adopt Viva Magenta at your 2023 colour appointment I recommend making sure that your hair is in very good condition. The better the condition of your hair, the more likely the colour is to ‘stick’.
Red Hair
We saw a whole host of celebrities embrace red hair transformations this year and the trend remains huge for 2023. From Gigi Hadid to Kendall Jenner; auburn, strawberry and rich red hair hues will continue to be massive. Nicole Petty, hair expert at Milk + Blush suggests that above all, copper will be the colour of the year. 'This is apparent from the 55,000 searches "copper hair" had in November, whilst "burgundy hair" had 30,000, and "auburn hair" had 58,000.'
Caramel Brown
Caramel brown hair is the perfect combination of warmer tones. This rich hue compliments those with skin tones on the lighter side of olive, with yellow and green undertones.
Expert stylist and head of education at Neäl & Wølf Laura Elliot says 'Adding hues of warm caramel to your dark tresses will give the illusion of shine with its warmth and brightness. For those with a caramel balayage on the blonder side you can use a blonde shampoo to maintain the colour. Try using Neäl & Wølf’s Blonde Purple Brightening Shampoo to enhance lightened hair.'
Barbie Blonde
With the brand new Barbie movie set for release in 2023, it's no surprise that 'Barbie Blonde' is set to be a huge hair colour trend. Ditch the icy toners and instead embrace the warmer, bleached blonde hues of the 90s. Think blonde icons like Pamela Anderson, Sarah Michelle Geller and Britney Spears.
