The Netflix reality series Perfect Match has a missing part... Vanessa Lachey. Or so fans on social media seem to think.
Perfect Match brings together fan-favourite singles from some of the best datings shows - including Love Is Blind, Love Island, Temptation Island, The Bachelor, Too Hot To Handle and more – for a dating series like no other. In this ultimate dating show crossover, contestants compete to form romantic connections. The couples' compatibility is put to the test as they face challenges all in the pursuit of finding their perfect match.
Hosted by dating show connoisseur Nick Lachey, many fans have been left wondering where his wife, Vanessa, is and why she isn’t hosting the show as well. The pair, who have been married since 2011 and share three children, have become the faces of both Netflix’s Love Is Blind: USA and The Ultimatum. However, on Perfect Match, Nick hosts solo.
Why is Vanessa Lachey not hosting Perfect Match?
It's said that Vanessa's much noticed absence comes from her booked and busy schedule! During the time of the filming for Perfect Match so far, when she wasn't hosting every other dating show for Netflix, her time was consumed by NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service). Vanessa joined the cast of NCIS Hawaii in 2021 starring as Agent Jane Tennant, the first female lead agent in the show. NCIS Hawaii has subsequently been cancelled after three seasons.
In an interview with People magazine, Nick commented on not working with his wife on Perfect Match, saying that Vanessa 'couldn't make it happen' and whilst he 'missed' Vanessa he is still 'thrilled to be able to do it by himself'.
In an Instagram post that Vanessa dedicated to her husband, she congratulated Nick on 'his' show Perfect Match and shared that she enjoyed the freedom of 'star-fishing solo' in bed whilst he was away filming.
Nick didn't rule out more on-screen moments with his wife telling People, 'It's fun to do both [working solo and working with Vanessa], honestly I really love hosting with her.'
