So, Do We All Agree Olivia Doesn’t Have A Leg To Stand On After Last Night’s Recoupling?

Fans think her reaction to Kai recoupling was out of order...

Olivia Hawkins Love Island

As expected, the girls’ return to the Love Island villa last night after Casa Amor brought all the drama, with Tanya Manhenga deciding to recouple while Shaq Muhammad remained loyal and Will Young’s sneaky kiss with Layla Al-Momani being revealed to Jessie Wynter - just two examples amongst many (and we mean many) wild moments.

In fact, in a surprising turn of events, the only people who didn’t cause any drama were Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall. And whilst Shaq had some harsh words for Tanya, saying they were ‘done and dusted’, it was seemingly Olivia Hawkins’ return to the villa that was the most volatile.

Despite walking back into the villa with Maxwell Samuda, Olivia was left fuming when she realised that Kai Fagan had also made the decision to recouple with Sanam Harrinanan.

Speaking about his decision Kai admitted, 'One I doubt how genuine the connection is with and the other, she's put a lot of effort in. I really want to pursue this connection further, we come from similar places... this is one of the hardest decisions I've made in here and I'm jumping in with two feet. I've decided to recouple.'

Whilst Kai seemed relieved that they’d both gone for other people shouting 'Yes!' and grinning with delight, Olivia wasn’t happy saying, ‘It’s very telling, it’s very telling. Can’t say I’m shocked. Missing me already? Clearly not enough. His loss, my gain... All his words were lies.'

However, fans were quick to call out Olivia for being annoyed at Kai when they’d both decided to recouple, taking to social media to comment, ‘Olivia’s peripheral vision is goneeeee, Maxwell is next to you babe’ and ‘Why is Olivia mad... you also recoupled’.

Some even accused her of trying to have her 'Indiyah' moment, referring to the Casa Amor chaos last year when Indiyah Polack returned to the villa with a new man, knowing in her mind that her long-term couple Dami Hope wasn't trustworthy. In that case, the public was rooting for Indiyah to listen to her head and recouple having seen how disrespectful Dami had been, but with Kai and Olivia's coupling paling in comparison to theirs (their chemistry isn't exactly palpable) few have been able to jump on board in the same way.

Of course, we have to consider Olivia's side too. Yes, we get that Olivia’s reaction was seemingly hypocritical, but we can’t imagine how daunting it must be to walk back into the Love Island villa and find that your previous partner has found a ‘genuine connection’ with someone else.

You know that feeling when a guy ghosts you and although you weren’t that interested in them anyway it still hurts? That’s probably exactly how Olivia was feeling.

And let’s be honest, Olivia isn’t exactly one to keep her feelings to herself although we can say this for the girl: she does manage to clear the air with everyone almost immediately after.
