It’s been known for a few years now that Love Island product placement spots are a hot commodity in the advertising world. It’s why the Islanders are often wearing similar-style outfits, the women picking from a selection of I Saw It First options, and why they’re forced to hide all labels on personal products not sponsoring the show.
This year though, viewers have noticed the male Islanders wearing a brand they’ve never seen before. In several scenes, Jake Cornish, Aaron Francis and Toby Aromolaran have been spotted in caps branded with a massive letter ‘R’. So much so, ‘What is the R brand on Love Island?’ became a breakout search term on Google Trends as people wished to find out more about the hats.
What is the R brand on Love Island?
Well, luckily for you, we know everything there is to know about this elusive ‘R’ brand. In actual fact, the ‘R’ on the Love Islander’s caps stands for ‘Rewired’ – a staple of fashion brand Rewired Clothing.
They have featured before on Love Island, with fashion icon Ovie Soko wearing them last year. Right now, they’re available to shop through JD Sports – which is the official activewear sponsor of Love Island.
The caps are unisex, but mostly modelled by men, and priced between £25-27. The ‘Trucker Cap’ appear to be the most popular on Love Island, with JD Sports labelling them as ‘selling fast’ on their website too. Oh, the power of attractive but toxic men to sell, sell, sell.
