Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis were the first dancing pair to have a confirmed place in the Strictly Come Dancing final. The fan favourites are just days away from battling it out for the Glitterball trophy against AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington and John Whaite and Johannes Radebe. However, it’s this heartfelt moment where Giovanni paid tribute the EastEnders actress that have fans talking.
After they heard the shocking news that they were through to the final they were both ecstatic. Strictly host Claudia Winkleman said, ‘Rose you’re here, you made it through to the final, what would you like to say to Gio for getting you here?’
Rose replied, ‘I just want to say thank you so much because you care so much, and you put so much passion into it.
‘It made me really determined to give it everything I’ve got because you are the best teammate I’ve ever had in my life.’
Claudia then turned to her pro- partner and said, ‘Gio, what’s your advice to Rose?'
He replied, 'I know it’s so exciting to be in the final, but I know the pressure is enormous.'
‘Just be you,’ he told Rose. ‘Since day one you've been a dream.
‘You have been a dream in my entire life so just be you. Just do what you’ve been doing since day one and we'll be more than okay,’ the Strictly professional added.
The duo has been named week on week as the bookies favourite to win the whole series. As the final approaches they are still are the clear frontrunners and well ahead of AJ and Kai in second.
Viewers have been captivated by their partnership and memorable dances throughout the series. The pair also took to social media to praise each other for their hard work leading up to this moment.
Uploading a picture of him and Rose looking over the moon backstage, Giovanni took to Instagram to write,’ We did it ! WE ARE IN THE FINAL !! You really worked hard, and you’ve got the result you wanted…You have given me thousands of reasons to be proud of you.’
Giovanni added,‘The way you inspire me and always cheer me up, I am really grateful to have you in my life. Now let’s go and enjoy our last week … and CHE SARÀ SARÀ!!!’
Similarly, Rose shared an identical picture on her Instagram and penned,’Anything is possible when you have a right person there to support you all the way. Giovanni, I am so proud of us, we succeed together, I could have not ask for a better teammates. Let smash it! The FINAL here we come!!'
