In the celebrity crossover news we never knew we needed, Stacey Solomon has been 'headhunted' by actor and producer Reese Witherspoon.

Yep, the Reese Witherspoon who’s recently taken the helm of some of the most hotly anticipated screen adaptations of the last few years, including Little Fires Everywhere, Where the Crawdads Sing and the upcoming Daisy Jones and the Six.

But rather than cast Stace in a glittering Hollywood production, Reese is planting her firmly in home territory for her first UK commission. Reese’s production company Hello Sunshine opened its UK Unscripted Division last year and have settled on a tried-and-tested formula for UK audiences, with Stacey reportedly set to front a new show called Bricking It, which will offer viewers cheap and easy tips to makeover their homes without getting in the professionals.

If it sounds familiar, that’s because Stacey has already made a reputable name for herself in home improvement telly, after her viral Instagram trend – and later book – Tap To Tidy was picked up by BBC One and turned into a primetime TV show, calledSort Your Life Out.

Speaking about taking on the new role and working with Hollywood royalty (again, not a pairing we could have foreseen, but we’re sure they’ll be the best of buds), former X Factor and I’m A Celeb star Stacey said, ‘From an early age, my dad taught me DIY and the importance of fixing things yourself where you can. I still find it so satisfying to build or repair around the house and it saves loads of money.

‘I am beyond excited to work with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine on their first ever U.K. project. They are all about empowering women, and what could be more empowering than a power tool?! It’s a dream come true to share my DIY hacks with everyone at home.’

Speakingto Grazia in 2021 about her pivot from much loved reality TV star to the UK clean queen to rival Marie Kondo, Stacey said, ‘It’s a coping mechanism, my form of meditation. The point is not the end result, but the space that I’ve created for my mind. I have a tendency to catastrophise and doing something that you have control over is an escape from that.’
