A Suits Spinoff Is Happening, And It Finally Has A Name

Suits fans will know that Jessica Pearson is terrifying and brilliant in equal parts – she's pretty much the Miranda Priestly of the legal world.

So it’s no surprise that she’s getting her very own spinoff show, called Second City.

Gina Torres, who plays Jessica Pearson, will star as a woman who decides to change careers and go from law to politics.

Pearson left Suits in season six (although she’s popped up here and there in the show since then) and moved to Chicago, now we’re going to get to see what she’s been up to this whole time.

'It was an extraordinary pleasure working with Gina on Suits for six years,' the show's creator Aaron Korsh has said.

'Beyond her undeniable talent, she is an incredible partner and collaborator, and I always hoped we would work together again.

'I am sincerely grateful to USA and UCP for giving Dan Arkin, my producing partners at Hypnotic and me the opportunity to continue Jessica Pearson's journey in this new series that will encapsulate all that our fans love about her and Suits — but with its own distinct story that will be unique to the franchise.'

Suits, which is currently filming an eighth season, has changed a lot recently – Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle have left the show, and Katherine Heigl will be joining the cast.
