As far as public displays of affection go threw the romantic rulebook out the window when she visited her fiancé Colin Jost at his place of work this weekend.

OK, so, maybe it's a little different, as she was hosting Saturday Night Live - for the sixth time - and he’s a cast member. But still!

During the opening monologue, which was packed full of Avengers jokes, ScarJo addressed their relationship, calling Jost the love of her life before going in to kiss him – not once, but twice – before the commercial break.

‘I just want to say this place means so much to me. I have so many friends here and I met the love of my life here. Merry Christmas,’ she said, before aiming for the kiss. And that wasn’t all – at the end of the show, she also jumped into her partner's arms for yet another kiss.

As far as declarations of love go, it was a lot (skip to the end of the video below).

As most cutesy couples do, they split opinion - with some shipping it, and some thinking the PDAs were their worst nightmare. ‘Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost in that monologue were chef’s kiss #SNL,’ one tweeted, while another agreed, adding, ‘Scarlett Johansson is so cute with Colin Jost on SNL! That kiss, love of my life, awww can’t wait to see what else they do together.’ One, who was obviously not a fan, added, ‘Colin Jost out here dodging Scarlett Johansson's kisses on live TV.’

Whatever you think, you can't deny that there was certainly a romantic mood in the air. It's (almost) Christmas, and Niall Horan was the musical guest, performing his new single Put A Little Love On Me. We can't say we blame them.
