Not to be cynical, but one of the main reasons celebrities put themselves in mortifying and terrifying experiences on I'm A Celebrity probably isn't because they really want to - it probably has a lot to do with the fact they're being paid.
Yes, while some certain elements of the show might be fun, IAC is an opportunity for celebs to be well paid for a few weeks' work, and, potentially, open their career to wider opportunities, if they leave the castle to legions of new fans.
It's an open secret that celebs on the show are paid widely differing amounts, based on their profile and just how much ITV bosses want to see them screaming in a coffin filled with snakes.
But this year, one of the biggest signings was Richard Madeley - who has unfortunately had to leave the show already, after being hospitalised{
That's because, reportedly, stars on the show receive their full payment if they manage to hack it for at least three days. (Do you remember when the GC - Gemma Collins - left the show after only three days? There might have been a reason she didn't immediately walk.) As Richard was in for four, and he had to leave thanks to medical reasons, it's expected he's going to keep the money (according toThe Sun).
Richard is definitely one of the show's biggest signings, and he joins the likes of other stars thought to be making a huge amount from IAC, like Rebekah Vardy{
However, none of the celebs are making anything like what loveable presenting duo Ant and Dec are paid, as reports suggest they make an estimated £3.3 million (each!). Well, it's nice work for some, isn't it?
