The Reactions To Last Night’s New Arrival On Love Island Were Top Tier

On last night’s episode of Love Island, producers took dropping bombshells to a new level. Setting up Rebecca Gormley to enter during the notorious strip-tease challenge, the look on the girls' faces as she danced on their partners was top-tier Love Island drama.

It was an elevation of their tried-and-tested method of sending in a feisty bombshell mid-season. Last year, Maura Higgins was hailed the saviour of season five after her entrance livened up what had been dull season so far. And, in 2018, Megan Barton-Hanson caused a similar stir, proving that all the Love Island couples really need to test their relationship is an Instagram model.

With this season similarly quiet on the drama front so far (read: boring), Gormley will hopefully rescue the show. Because, nothing says Love Island is dead like producers choosing to do the strip-tease challenge one week in (isn't that normally their trick shot at six weeks when we all start getting Love Island fatigue? What will they do this year, a full sex show?!)

And while not everyone is happy about Gormley throwing yet another spanner in the works of fan-favourite Shaughna Phillips' love-life (can our Queen rest?), Love Island viewers were definitely elated by the new drama. Twitter immediately went into meme-overdrive seeing the girls reactions to Gormley's dance - screenshotting all of their faces instantly.
