Oscar nominees

This year's Oscar nominations have landed with Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog along with Kenneth Branagh's Belfast leading the way with the most nominations. While Lady Gaga has missed out on a nomination, Kristen Stewart has been nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal of Princess Diana in Spencer, going up against British star Olivia Colman for The Lost Daughter.

Other Brits on the nominees list include Jessie Buckley (for The Lost Daughter) and Dame Judi Dench (for Belfast) who are both up for Best Supporting Actress, while Benedict Cumberbatch is nominated for Best Actor for The Power of the Dog.

Last year's Academy Awards were a bit of a muted affair due to Covid, and we're long overdue a proper razzle-dazzle, red-carpet awards night. This year's theme for the Oscars (yes, there is a theme each year) is 'Movie Lovers Unite', so roll on 27 March!

Here's the full list of Oscar nominations for 2022, which were announced virtually today by Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan...
