Where were you when you heard The Hills was coming back?
We were watching the MTV VMAs in August not expecting to hear a life-changing, history-shaping announcement of any kind and then it happened; Spencer Pratt teased the reunion on the red carpet, and The Hills: New Beginnings was officially announced by an advert and statement on MTV’s website.
Cue squeals of excitement across the globe as Spencer, Heidi and Stephanie Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Justin Bobby, Jason Wahler and Frankie Delgado are all confirmed for the reboot. Notably, Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and Kristin Cavallari will not be in the reboot.
Now, Mischa Barton will be joining the cast, according to MTV who tweeted: ‘THIS IS NOT A TEST @MischaBarton is joining the cast of #TheHills: New Beginnings!’ mocking the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s test presidential alert which had gone out to 225 million electronic devices in the US earlier that day.
Barton herself confirmed the news with a video of her listening to The Hills soundtrack in her car, ‘Welcome to The Hills bitch’ she says to camera.
The reboot is being described as a docuseries based on the original show which ended in 2010, it will follow the lives of the cast members through their personal and private lives in Los Angeles.

Lauren Conrad then
After taking the lead role in Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, The Hills followed Lauren as she pursued a fashion career in Los Angeles. Lauren narrated the show up until her departure half-way through the fifth season.
On the show, Lauren famously fell out with former BFFs Heidi Montag and Heidi's then boyfriend (now husband) Spencer Pratt. It was all over a vicious rumour regarding an alleged sex tape with Lauren's former boyfriend Jason Wahler.
The series is slated for a 2019 release, meaning we've still got at least three months to catch up on the previous seasons. Now where did we leave those boxsets?
