It can't be easy joining Love Island in Casa Amor – you only have a few days to steal someone from their absent partner and convince them to bring you back to the main villa, and you're up against several couples who have known each other for a whole month. Sometimes this works seamlessly and it all ends happily ever after, but often it causes a lot of chaos. As we witness the emerging Tanya-Martin-Shaq love triangle, we can picture things going pear shaped very quickly.
_S_ince the move to Casa Amor, Love Island fans have slowly witnessed Tanya turn her head away from Shaq. Despite telling each other they love each other after two weeks in the villa, and seeming like this series' strongest couple until very recently, things seem to be going downhill for Tanya and Shaq. And now Irish software engineer Martin has entered Casa Amor and seems to have caught Tanya's eye. But, fans on Twitter are worried that he's showing interest for all the wrong reasons – i.e., to bag himself a place in the main villa.
In last night's episode, the pair appeared to get even closer and Tanya showed Martin lots of affection and seemed to go in for a kiss, but Martin's expression and body language told a different story. As she moved in for a hug on the sofa, Martin looked noticeably uncomfortable – not the tell-tale sign of someone who is interested! Of course, this could be an unfortunate filming angle or he might have a strong case of resting b*tch face, but either way it's raised suspicions.
One fan wrote, 'I'm not convinced that Martin likes Tanya... he doesn't respond to her when she makes flirty comments, Tanya is taking a big risk with Martin.' Another noticed that Tanya hasn't been very positive about Shaq, who she is supposedly in love with, saying 'Tanya should just crack on with Martin and stop being so negative about Shaq cause it’s not a good look!'. And elsewhere, fans are worried about Shaq's reaction on movie night, as a seemingly emotional person, when he sees what she's been up to given that he is currently under the impression that they are together.
None of this is helped by the fact that Tanya and Shaq parted ways on bad terms. They were mid-argument when they were called to the fire pit for a recoupling, having disagreed on whether Shaq was right to call Ron out for not helping the other boys with the washing up, and whether Tanya was right to call Shaq out in front of Lana and compare him to her ex. The argument revealed cracks in the couple's ability to communicate maturely and whether they're as compatible as we'd initially thought. Next thing we know, the girls were whisked away to Casa Amor and the only way he could speak to her was via a note in her suitcase (where he wrote "love you more than anything"). Awkward! They say you shouldn't go to sleep on an argument, but you definitely shouldn't go to Casa Amor on one either.
