Even before Love Island hit our screens, one of the contestants was already causing controversy. Ollie Williams - one of the new singletons entering the South African villa - was revealed by The Sun to be a ‘bloodthirsty big game hunter’. And to make matters worse, the viscount-in-waiting was also pictured with some of the animals he had shot during his trips to Africa. Safe to say, it didn’t go down well.

Some have boycotted watching the show - and there is already a petition to get him booted off, which has already accumulated almost 16,000 signatures. Many viewers have made comparisons to when Sherif was kicked off the show last year, saying it’s unfair Ollie that is allowed to stay. (As one user tweeted, ‘So #LoveIsland dropped Sherif from the show for saying “c punt” but won’t axe Ollie who literally kills endangered animals for fun?’)

Even new host Laura Whitmore has commented on the photos, saying the pictures saddened her. ‘I saw pictures of one Islander when I came back to London that did really upset me,’ she told The Sun{ =nofollow}. ‘It did make me sad. I just want to acknowledge that.’

A Love Island spokesperson refused to comment.

Last night, Ollie coupled up with Paige. (Paige's claim to fame is being the ex of Lewis Capaldi, who she claimed in last night's episode that Someone You Loved was written about her.) The final couples were Sophie and Connor, Leanne and Mike, Siannise and Nas and Shaughna and Callum. But, towards the end of the programme, the twins walked in as bombshells - so we'll be tuning in tonight to see how they shake things up.
