A round of applause for our Queens, Millie and Kaz!
Last night on Love Island, the Casa Amorfallout continued. Millie and Kaz delivered a master class on standing your ground and respecting yourself – and we are paying attention.
They both refused to let the men walk all over them or downplay their ‘lads holiday’ antics (side note: If I hear the words ‘lad’s holiday’ come from any of the guy’s mouth again, I will scream).
After Millie discovered what we already knew - that Liam had been cheating on her in Casa Amor there was no going back.
During Casa Amor, Millie was completly loyal and respectful towards Liam and his feelings. In return she got Liam kissing outside of challenges, and sleeping in bed with another girl - Lillie.
On his return he came back single acting like he was good as gold over there. The truth was quickly outed as Lillie strutted into the main villa and didn't hold anything back - leaving Millie fuming.
Millie Court's no-nonsense approach to Liam’s excuses was stellar. She nipped it in the bud swiftly confirming that there is no future between them, leaving Liam speechless. She carried herself like a boss whilst looking fabulous doing so – iconic.
At first, as viewers we could see Millie maybe considering taking Liam back – how wrong we were. After all, watching the couple blossom over time it was clear they had a spark. Just last week Liam was gushing over his ‘ Millie-Moo’ and revealing to the boys that he was falling for her. The duo were growing in popularity and they had a fighting chance at being front-runners to win the show.
However, Casa Amor revealed Liam’s true intentions and now the rose-tinted glasses are well and truly off- and Millie was NOT backing down. Millie reminded Liam “ I didn’t entertain anyone else and that speaks louder than what you’ve done.”
If Liam genuinely apologised for his sneaky movements instead of making excuses, Millie might have given him the time of day. However, his words and his actions just didn’t match up. Millie called him out on how mad it is to state that you only want her, only to go off and treat her like an option.
It was difficult to watch Millie’s happiness being built up just to come crashing down seconds later upon Liam’s Casa Amor return. Usually once you end a relationship you can cut ties very easily. An Instagram block or deleting their number can even feel therapeutic. But in the Love Island villa - there really is no escape. Being single in the villa surrounded by other couples can be quite a lonely feeling.
So, for Millie to cut him off in this intense environment takes even more strength and resilience to do. Millie has reminded us that even on a show like Love Island, being single is better than being with someone who clearly has no respect for you or your feelings.
Millie closed the conversation telling Liam “I personally don’t think that I can go forward this because you’ve hurt me, and I don’t trust you. I feel like you need to just respect that decision. "
And she was out of there...what a woman. Love Island producers, if you’re reading this - get a MAN in there for Millie ASAP.
Kaz told Tyler straight, and we are here for it!
We also got to witness Kaz Kamwi hold her own last night and it was marvellous to watch. She was direct, firm and did not miss a beat.
Whilst in Casa Amor Tyler was very eager to get to know the girls. He first made a play for Amy ( who is now with Hugo) before settling and recoupling with Clarisse.
Meanwhile in the main villa Kaz's heart was with Tyler and she was hanging on to the words (lies) he was feeding her before he left. After seeing pictures of Tyler kissing Clarisse Juliette in bed, Kaz got to know Matthew MacNabb and recoupled with him. But during the nail-biting recoupling around the fire pit she said she would not have recoupled if she did not see those images - there are clearly feelings still there.
When the ex- lovers eventually sat down to rehash everything that happened the tension was clearly evident. Before Kaz even started the conversation the look in her eyes told a thousand words. She was not going to allow Tyler Cruickshank to feed her anymore lies. Every point she made was precise and there was a rebuttal for everything he said - it was amazing.
Some viewers on social media were questioning why Kaz was so annoyed after only knowing Tyler for 4 days. But we must remember, we only see an hour of a 24-hour day. We don’t know all the details of their conversations or how much he reassured her. Kaz also mentioned that he said his head would not be turned – which is a bold statement to make so early on.
Kaz let him know exactly what she thought of his sudden 180 degree transformation “ I think you’re playing the biggest game. You came in here and fed me bullshit.” And she’s right, Tyler laid it on too thick to start with and sold her the biggest dream. Her reaction is normal, anyone would feel blindsided and let’s be honest she hasn’t had the smoothest ride in the villa.
She ended the row with “ If it was so damn genuine, why didn’t you walk in here by yourself?” All we heard after that rebuttal was crickets because Tyler had nothing to say.
I could re-watch that scene over and over just to see the look of disbelief on Tyler’s face after she strutted off. He could not handle the pure class of Kaz or the TRUTH being relayed to him.
She was also the first girl to call out how easily the boys are swayed by each other’s opinions – do they not have their own minds? Between Tyler blaming his own behaviour on the influence of the boys, Toby's never ending head turns and Jake's pot stirring - it's crazy just how swayed this group of men are by the rest of the group.
I think there is a lot as women can take from how Kaz and Millie handled these situations.
The Queens have spoken, and they deserve a standing ovation.
