Michael might have only been spectacularly dumped from the Love Island villa last night - but he’s already making headlines. After an awkward appearance with Joanna on Aftersun, the firefighter has claimed he is going to try and patch things up with the 22-year-old, the islander who he originally left Amber for.
Speaking to the Sun Online, the 27-year-old said, ‘Ultimately I am hoping Joanna will take me back, I am hoping that's the case. It's just whether Joanna will speak to me or not. I am excited to speak to her but I don't know how, or if, she is going to speak to me.’ He added, ‘I hope that I could work towards [getting back with Joanna] but if she doesn't want to revisit it then she doesn't want to revisit it.’
The islander also addressed Amber’s coupling with new bombshell Greg O’Shea, putting her firmly in the friendzone by saying, ‘We are friends and I did say that I do actually see her and Greg working as I see how much he makes her smile. Seeing that actually makes me quite happy. That's the cherry on tip of the cake really as it made me realise that I do actually cherish Amber’s friendship. I am really happy that she is happy now.’
Michael has also said that he thinks none of his fellow contestants have had sex - because it's too hot. He told The Sun, 'That bedroom can get hot, even when the air conditioning is on.The second the duvet goes over you do get hot. It’s not like we’re prudish.' His claims follow reports that producers have decided not to air sex scenes this year, in order to protect the wellbeing of islanders.
