Love Island 2021 was the year we finally reunited with our fave reality TV show after bosses were forced to postpone the show the previous year because of the coronavirus pandemic - and boy, was it worth the wait.

From Toby Aromolaran changing his mind every single day before finally realising he was in love with Chloe Burrowsto one of the most DRAMATIC Casa Amor twists that saw Liam Reardon nearly lose 'love of his life' Millie Court after he kissed and shared a bed with Lillie Haynes, oh it was dramatic!

Who could also forget the Shakespearean love drama that involved Liberty Poole choosing self-love over her doomed romance with Jake Cornish? Oh and hurricane Faye Winter when she discovered Teddy Soares' flirty antics in Casa Amor?

As we get ready ready to obsess over a new bunch of Islanders as a load of sexy singletons enter the South African villa to find love and potentially bag a whopping £50,000 - lets revisit the class of 2021 to see what they're up to now.

Who won Love Island 2021?

Bombshells Millie Court and Liam Reardon won the series despite neither of them being part of the original line-up, which went down in Love Island history. Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran came second, Faye Winter and Teddy Soares came third and Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank came fourth.

Out of all of the final four couples, only Faye and Teddy are still together a year and a half later. But we did get one new couple out of the finalists in the form of Millie and Chloe, who moved in together in November when both their relationships broke down.

Millie Court

Millie Court won us all over with her Gavin and Stacey Essex/Wales romance with Liam Reardon. She also provided all the outfit GOALS and LOLs. That keyboard moment? Obsessed.

After winning the show, Millie moved in with Liam in a plush Essex pad, landed her own edit and collection with ASOS (full circle, as she used to work there), jetted all over the world to create content and has started her own YouTube channel. However, the couple sadly split up in July 2022. Millie said, 'it's been a tough decision and I am gutted but it's ultimately what is best for us right now'. She later moved in with Love Island bestie Chloe Burrows and has been entertaining us on TikTok and living her best life.

Liam Reardon

Welsh lad Liam walked into the villa in week one as a bombshell and the nation quickly fell for him when he first had that dinner date with Millie in the garden. We're probably never going to forgive him for kissing Lillie Haynes in Casa Amor, but his Tom Jones singing almost makes up for it.

Liam Reardon

Speaking about his break up from Millie, Liam has said, 'I instigated it… if we're going to be together for me to love her, I need to love myself and the past few months have been a bit… you know… I need to find myself again.'

He has since appeared on Celebs Go Dating and has continued to do some modelling. And after a brief stint living in Essex with his ex, he moved to London where he seems to enjoy meeting up with former Islanders like Aaron Francis or working on his boxing skills. We're secretly hoping he finds himself and him and Millie work things out.

Chloe Burrows

She was 2021's first bombshell and boy did she make an impact. As well as being one of the funniest characters to ever grace the show, her rocky rollercoaster relationship with Toby made us believe in love again. Until it didn't. They broke up in October 2022 and Chloe immediately jetted off to Morrocco on a girls trip with Millie. The besties have been inseparable ever since. NO WHEY.

Chloe Burrows

Since leaving the villa, Chloe became the first EVER female reality TV ambassador for JD Sports and was even a stand in on ITV show The Games. Single Chloe is unstoppable.

Toby Aromolaran

Toby was the chaotic character reality TV needed in 2021, as his head turned towards a different girl almost every day during his stay in the villa. However, he finally realised Chloe was The One after his stay at Casa Amor.

Toby announced his split from Chloe in true Islander fasion, via a TikTok, saying 'I don't need to BeReal, I need to be single'. Not cool Toby. While we're gutted the pair have gone their separate ways, Toby has gone from strength to strength since landing a gig as a BoohooMAN brand ambassador and still 'kicks a ball around' for Hashtag United.

Kaz Kamwi

Kaz won a legion of fans by being the calmest and most authentic Islander, who definitely knew her worth. Despite a rocky road, Kaz left the villa hand in hand with Tyler Cruickshank but they announced their split in December 2021, four months after leaving the villa together.

What's Kaz up to now? She's travelling the world with her BFF Libs, of course! Sometimes, the most genuine relationships made in the villa are friendships and that is definitely the case for these two. Kaz has also collaborated with huge brands such as Boux Avenue and Makeup Revolution.

Tyler Cruickshank

The nation fell in love with Tyler when he entered the villa and whisked Kaz off her feet. However, things changed a little when he returned from Casa Amor with Clarisse Juliette - prompting him to have his 'head scrambled'. Kaz and Tyler couldn't deny their feeling for each other, though, and they soon coupled up again.

Tyler has been a busy boy since leaving Love Island. Despite his split from Kaz, he's also spoken out in support of mental health for men and he revealed that there 'is a dark side to Love Island.'

Faye Winter

Ah 'hurricane' Faye and her iconic brown lipstick. She was like Marmite in the villa and definitely split opinion when she lost it as a result of Casa Amor, but she overcame all the odds and finally believed in love when her Teddy came along and showed her how she should be treated.

Feddy are still together! One of the only couples to make it from this series. Three months after leaving the show, they moved into a new home together (believed to be in London) and have been showing fans the renovation progress. Faye is passionate about doing work for causes she believes in, including being a Campaign Star for Guide Dogs and campaigning with PETA to end the slaughtering of bears in Canada to make caps for the Queen's Guard.

Teddy Soares

Remember the moment Teddy came back for Faye with her little dog teddy? Our hearts. He was Love Island's sweetheart, despite a small flirty mistake in Casa Amor.

As well as being couple goals alongside Faye, Teddy is often seen showing off his style on Instagram and he's landed jobs with Jack Wills and Sky.

Liberty Poole

Liberty and Jake were the first official couple in Love Island 2021, but things soon turned sour as they argued and realised that they just weren't compatible. Just days before the final, Liberty became the nation's sweetheart when she chose self-love over her love for Jake. After their relationship ended, Liberty and Jake decided to leave before the final.

Her Love Island journey spurred EVERYONE to want to work with Liberty. Quickly after leaving the villa, she signed deals with InTheStyle, Skinny Tan, Lola's Lashes and Boux Avenue. She was also a contestant on Dancing on Ice 2022.

Jake Cornish

Weston-super-Mare boy Jake's relationship with his Lib won over the hearts of the nation, but cracks soon started to show. Despite their decision to leave, Jake revealed that he was 'devastated' when Liberty decided to call off their relationship, and said they tried to make things work on the outside world.

Jake lives a far more quiet life than his co-stars since leaving the show, opting not to go down the 'influencer' route. He's still in Weston-Super-Mare and has since launched his own rattan furniture company @therattanman. Because, why not!

Lucinda left the villa with Aaron Francis but they soon declared that they were just friends and it wasn't long before Lucinda rekindled things with Brad before calling it a day. She then reunited with herformer boyfriend Aaron Connelly. As of right now? Well, Lucinda's now single again and is living her best life, having signed deals with ISawItFirst and is often on holiday with pals Millie and Chloe.

When did Love Island 2021 start?

The 2021 series of Love Island was delayed after the coronavirus pandemic and the original contestants had to endue a strict people of lockdowns and rules. The OG line-up were quarantined for THREE WEEKS.

'Crew members are scheduled to fly out to Majorca on June 20 – with the series expected to launch a week later. The delayed launch date will not have an impact on the length of the series, with the show still running for a duration of eight weeks,' a source told MailOnline at the time.

Where did Love Island 2021 take place?

Despite rumours that Love Island could take place in the UK for the first time, filming was set to take place in its original home of Majorca.

The series was the last to be held in the iconic original villa (it was sold in March 2022 for £2.7m), as the next batch of Islanders will be setting up home at a luxury villa on the outskirts of picturesque village Sant Llorenç des Cardassar.
