Love is Blind Season Four finale wedding episode spoilers ahead... if you do not yet know who got married on Love Is Blind Series Four and you do not want to know yet, this piece is not for you.
But if you HAVE watched the Love is Blind finale and want to talk, them scroll down, because we need to get this off our chest, and it seems like the internet does too...
Oooooohkay, we're ready to talk about what happened at the wedding of Paul Peden and Micah Lussier in the Love is Blind finale... and Twitter has already taken off.
To those of you who've not watched and just want the gossip, Paul and Micah were the only couple in the finale who didn't get married. And it was a rocky ride.
In the run up, both Paul and Micah seemed to have some reservations, but on the whole things looked like they might get married. When it came to Micah's turn to say 'I do', she requested that Paul go first, later saying her logic was that she needed that show of love from Paul and that if he'd said I do, she definitely would've too.
However, Paul instead said he didn't think they should marry, leaving Micah leaving the wedding in tears.
Micah's friend Shelby laughed and said it was how she'd hoped it would go - which has also prompted a LOT of internet chat about whether that makes her absolutely the worst (for laughing) or best (for seeing it all the long) friend ever.
But perhaps the most shocking moment was the interview with Paul about why he didn't want to marry Micah...
Why did Paul decide not to marry Micah?
Speaking to the camera, Paul said: 'To tell her no, destroyed me. I completely broke into pieces. I struggled with... at least in terms of envisioning, like, yknow, a mother. I think for me it was difficult for me to do. It's just sort of like a nurturing aspect that some people have. I don't know. But whenever I tried I just know I wasn't able to see it clearly.'
That interview was quickly followed by Micah's mum saying 'He's an idiot, literally.'
And we have to agree!
Whatever you think of Paul's decision and his dynamic with Micah (and to be honest, anecdotally it looks like most posts are in support of Paul), to call out - IN THAT MOMENT AND ON CAMERA FOREVER - her supposed ability to be or not be a mother just seemed completely brutal.
It's fair to say the couples haven't had long to speak to each other, but the couples did speak about family, kids and so to turn motherhood and fertility against her when you've literally just turned her down at the altar in front of millions of people seems just a really low blow compared to all the thing he could've said at that moment.
And to say that he hadn't seen 'a nurturing aspect' to her, as if a woman has to be all bosoms and cuddles to be a mother was, I think, fairly misogynistic and tired trope of what a woman, wife and mother should be.
Of course, Paul shouldn't have tied himself to someone if it wasn't right, and some might say he was just being truthful on a show where their whole lives are already laid out.
But something about saying he didn't think she'd be a good mother just seemed particularly hard to watch and made my stomach clench out of sadness for her, having to watch that in time to come.
It's fair to say not everyone felt like that, with many viewers online praising Paul for his honesty and a lot of them saying Micah was attention-seeking and trying to get sympathy by making Paul say no first.
And I'd say thinking those things and thinking the fact he made such a horrible sweeping statement about her and motherhood and giving THAT as a reason to ditch her at aisle don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Are Paul and Micah Still Together? What happened at the reunion?
No, but they did try for a while apparently - and Paul's comments about Micah's supposed maternalness did get discussed at the reunion.
On the delayed reunion, Paul and Micah confirmed the continued to date after they decided not to marry, but it ended not long after Paul went to visit Micah in Arizona.
Speaking about his comments about being unable to see Micha as a mother, Paul said: 'I think I phrased that really unfairly towards her. I don't think that it was a reflection of what she was capable of or anything like that.
'I think that the better way to phrase that would've been, I can't see us as parents because I couldn't envision myself as she pointed out — couldn't envision myself as a father just as much as I couldn't see in her.'
Speaking on the show, Micah said the comment did make her feel 'terrible' and said: 'I felt like it was the worst thing that could be said. I think because, you know, you would've been a great mom and he knew how important it was for me to be a mom. It's something that I've talked about since the pods, how important having family was to me.'
