It’s fair to say that Leo Woodall is everywhere at the moment. Following his hugely successful stints in The White Lotus in 2022 and One Day last year, he’s currently appearing on our screens in the Apple TV+ show Prime Target and hits cinemas on Valentine’s Day in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. Not that we’re complaining obviously!
And as a result of his rising star, everyone is trying to find out all they can about Leo Woodall - including everything to do with his family. Because it turns out that Leo has some pretty solid connections in the entertainment industry through his parents (and of course, his girlfriend Meghann Fahy).
Now, before we get into it, we want to make it clear that whilst Leo Woodall is technically a Nepo baby, there’s no denying that the actor has got some serious talent. Yes, he’s got some famous family members who might have been able to help him make connections in the industry, but that would have only got him so far.
Who is Leo Woodall’s father Andrew Woodall?
His biological father Andrew Woodall has some pretty solid acting credits to his name including The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) – he played Gendarmes Captain alongside Guy Pearce and Henry Cavill – and more recently, The Couple Next Door (2023) – he played Brian alongside Eleanor Tomlinson and Sam Heughan).
And Leo’s stepfather Alexander Morton is also a member of the entertainment industry. He appeared in Monarch of the Glen (2000-2005) as Golly Mackenzie alongside Alastair Mackenzie. You may also have spotted him in Luther and Casualty.
Despite those connections, Leo has revealed that his father Andrew was initially reluctant for his son to follow in his footsteps saying in an interview with The Guardian that his father once claimed, ‘Whatever you do, don’t be a fucking actor.’ Eventually (and luckily) he changed his mind and supported Leo’s decision.
Who is Leo Woodall’s mother Mary Ashton?
After meeting Andrew at drama school, Leo’s mum Jane Mary Ashton then met Alexander Morton when she was his landlady in London. Jane ultimately decided to become a landlady instead of pursuing a career in acting.
And even further down the line on his mum’s side, Leo has connections to the silent film star Maxine Elliot – also known as Little Jessie - who starred in From Dusk to Dawn and The Eternal Magdalene.
Does Leo Woodall have any siblings?
Leo lives with his older brother Gabriel in north London and also has an older sister called Constance. Considering himself ‘the baby’ of the family, Leo has admitted that he was ‘a bit spoilt’ growing up.
