The long-awaited second season of Netflix's hit show, Wednesday, is finally here. Well, the first four episodes are anyway... And fans were quick to notice that Lady Gaga, the guest star of the series, was absent from part one.
In May, it was announced that the iconic music artist Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, would appear in the second season during a live Netflix Tudum event. The singer emerged from a coffin – honouring the Wednesday aesthetic – marked 'Here Lies the Monster Queen' and sang 'Zombieboy' remixed with the Addams family theme tune, 'Bloody Mary' and 'Abracadabra' to celebrate the casting news.
When will lady Gaga appear in Wednesday season two?
Of course the question on everyone's lips is: when will she appear? For those disappointed after watching the first few episodes, Lady Gaga was always due to appear in part two. 'Welcome to Nevermore, Mother Monster,' Netflix confirmed in May. 'Lady Gaga will guest star in Wednesday season 2 part 2 as Rosaline Rotwood – a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.'
Lead actress and gothic style icon Jenna Ortega has been tight lipped about Gaga's cameo, although she did say her Tudum performance was 'very exciting' and 'a surprise'.
'She's such a legend and such a powerhouse,' Jenna added. 'Just an incomparable force. So to be able to sit at a dinner table and do nothing and watch her close up – what a gift.'
What has the show runner Alfred Gough said about Gaga's Wednesday cameo?
'She seemed perfect,' Alfred said about casting the singer in Wednesday. 'We were excited to find her a small role in the show – which is all we can really say about that at this point.'
Gaga joins Steve Buscemi and Joanna Lumley as new cast members and director Tim Burton was quick to sing all their praises during a recent interview with Variety. '[Gaga is] such an artist and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational. But I feel that way about Joanna and Steve, who I've worked with before. These people come on this set, you see the whole crew kind of light up. It's a beautiful thing to witness.'
