Keeping Up With The Kardashian fans will remember Kourtney squaring up to Kim when she belittled her work ethic in the final season of the show. Punches were thrown as the sisters told each other: ‘I will literally f*ck you up’.

And Kourtney has now revealed there was a ‘toxic environment’ on the set of her family’s E! reality show, which caused her to put on a front and act like a caricature of herself towards the end of the show.

‘It became a really toxic environment at the end for me,’ she told Bustle. ‘I would fight with my sisters. There was, like, just a lot going on. And even for me personally, I wasn’t in the happiest place. I felt like I was being almost a character.’

‘I was used to always being a bitch and having no feelings,’ Kourtney said, before revealing she’d gone into therapy when the show ended, which has since made her ‘really sensitive.’

‘Normally I’d have a really good comeback [to insults] like, “Well, you’re covered in cellulite.” But then I would be like, “I have nothing mean to say. I’m not a bitch anymore…I just have feelings; like, an abundance of them. I would just start crying all the time.’

Kris Jenner, Kourtney’s mum and agent told Bustle that she feels in retrospect that the family might have been too harsh on Kourtney. Reflecting on the series, she said: ‘If Kourtney doesn't want to share certain things, instead of everybody getting annoyed by that or upset by that, it's just really about accepting what works for everybody.’

'At some point you have to kind of make a decision about how you're going to spend your time and how you're going to balance. I think that Kourtney's really found that balance that she has craved for so long. And she's been happy. You can see it on her face and in the way she is and her laughter.'

But Kourtney’s confession that she found the show had become a toxic environment makes you wonder why they’ve chosen to reboot the family’s reality series on Disney Plus this April. Yet, Kourtney claims that the break has given her a new perspective.

‘Having the break shifted the mindset with my sisters,’ Kourtney explained. ‘When you’re doing that [show] every single day, you don’t have the space to take a break and be like, “Wait, we actually love each other.

‘It’s so funny, because there was a little tease for our new show. And I saw people in the comments like, “Kourtney is already over the show. She looks miserable.” I just find it funny. Workwise, I’m happier than I”ve ever been.
