Yes, it might only be November 4 - but it's time to start thinking about Christmas. (As Mariah Carey knows all too well, noopener noreferrer}Christmas advert has become one of the biggest - and most emotional - TV moments of the year. And 2021's advert, called Unexpected Guest, has just dropped. You can watch it below. But be warned, it might make you very teary at this time in the morning.
This year, there's a sci-fi twist, as the ad follows the story of an alien (Skye) who befriends a young boy called Nathan after she crashes on Earth. But during Skye's time on the planet, Nathan teaches her all about Christmas, stealing her mince pies from his family dinner and sitting outside to watch Christmas films with her. Spoiler alert: the advert ends as Skye as has to go back to her home planet - and we dare you not to cry.
(Also, if you were wondering why spaceships 'crash landed' in Newcastle and London earlier this week - they were big hints about the theme of the advert.)
If you're a John Lewis Christmas ad superfan, the jumper Nathan is wearing is also available to purchase - in mens, women's and children's - with 10% of the profits going to FareShare and Home-Start UK.
The John Lewis 2021 Christmas advert will premiere on TV tonight, during the Pride Of Britain Awards on ITV.
Who sings the John Lewis 2021 Christmas advert?
Usually, the advert features music from one of the UK's biggest artists - Elton John, Ellie Goulding, Bastille and Lily Allen have had the honour in the past - but this year, the advert has been accompanied with music from rising star Lola Young, a 20 year old singer-songwriter from South London. (Lola is also managed by the man who signed Adele, so you can tell that big things are to come.) She covers Together in Electric Dreams, originally released by Philip Oakey and Giorgio Moroder in 1984.
