I'm A Celebrityis officially back with an all-stars line up, to be filmed in South Africa. And the line up features plenty of our faves, including Helen Flanagan, Janice Dickinson, Carol Vorderman and Shaun Ryder.
The show hasn't even started yet and we're already wondering how this year's line up are going to fare in the face o f the show's rules. If you remember a few seasons back Naughty Boy - real name Shahid Khan, in case you were wondering - brought in some spices with him to add some flavour to the show's typically dreaded rice and beans. And when the music producer admitted he'd smuggled them in, they were promptly confiscated. Fellow contestant Richard Madeley then promised that it isn't the first time the rules are going to be messed with, telling the camera: 'Well Naughty Boy had really lived up to his name. He smuggled in something for camp. I think that’s a real mark of character actually. And we’ve got to bend the rules a bit here and I can promise you, having spoken to everybody here, this is not going to be the last time that the rules are bent.’ (Yes, he gave it the full Alan Partridge).
And this got us wondering, what other weird rules and regulations do the celebs have to adhere too... We thought we'd find out so you don't have to.
You can't ask ex-contestants for advice
Obviously, one of the first things you'd think you'd do if you were enrolled on I'm A Celeb is to ask a former contestant for advice. And while this might seem like common sense, apparently it's against the show's rules to tell anyone you're on the show before you're announced. A couple of seasons ago, Emmerdale's Danny Miller apparently broke the rule by asking on his good friend Corrie's Adam Thomas for advice - hopefully it pays off tbh, as Danny left Emmerdale to take part in the show.
You're psychologically tested before going on the show
Like most reality shows, those on I'm A Celeb are subject to psychological assessments beforehand, to make sure they're mentally prepared to be on the series. According to former contestant Katie Price, this includes questions on 'your past, your anxieties, [and] your likes and dislikes'.
You're only allowed THREE pairs of knickers
Think you could hack the bush tucker trials on I'm A Celeb? Well, you might struggle more with the fact you're only allowed to bring in three - yes, three - pairs of knickers. EastEnders Rita Simons later admitted that she snuck in extra knickers to the show, telling This Morning: 'I smuggled in extra knickers. You’re allowed three pairs of knickers… Three pairs. I smuggled more.’ Ooh, rebel.
Time is an illusion...
Just like on Love Island, the celebs aren't allowed to know the time - which must properly mess with your internal body clock.
Want to be paid? You have to survive three days too
It's hardly a secret that everyone on I'm A Celeb is paid differing amounts, dependent on their level of fame and how much audiences are going to want to watch them. (Remember when Caitlyn Jenner supposedly garnered an eye-watering £500,000 fee.) But one thing that is the same for all of the stars is that contestants have to stay in the jungle for at least three days to receive their pay check. So, if you wondering why Gemma - the GC- Collins only lasted for three days...
Deodorant was banned in series 1
It's not now - but fun fact, deodorant was allowed from series two, as the production crew complained so much about the celebs smelled.
But, you are allowed to smoke...
We don't condone the habit, but celebrities can smoke in the jungle, as according to insiders there is a supply.
