It's been quite a year for the seemingly unstoppable Florence Pugh - and 2023 will see the actress' filmography expand even further, as she is starring alongside award-winning Hollywood veteran Morgan Freeman in drama A Good Person. It is not just another leading role under her belt, but her first stab at producing.

A Good Person is directed by Florence's ex-boyfriend, Zach Braff. The couple started dating in 2019 but went their separate ways earlier this year.

'We've been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it's been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,' the 26-year-old told Harper's Bazaar in August. 'We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we're not together. So we've done that.

'I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it.'

Zach previously praised his ex's performance in his upcoming film, saying, 'I know that anything Florence does is incredible. People say she's maybe the best actress of her generation. I think she's one of the best actresses working. This performance she gives is unbelievable.'

Here's everything else we know about the film.

What's the plot of A Good Person?

Florence plays Allison, a young woman whose life is turned upside down following a fatal car crash involving her soon-to-be sister-in-law. Using prescription pills and alcohol as a coping mechanism doesn't prove to be as effective as she hopes, but she later finds unexpected solace in her would-be-father-in-law Daniel (Morgan Freeman). As they unite in grief - with Daniel also tasked with raising his 18-year-old granddaughter - the pair learn that friendship and forgiveness can bloom in the most unlikely of places.

Who else is in the cast of A Good Person?

Appearing alongside Florence and Morgan are: Molly Shannon (Other People, The White Lotus, My Boss's Daughter), Chinaza Uche (Nigerian Prince, The Devil Below, Mother of George), Celeste O'Connor (Selah and the Spades, Irreplaceable You, Wetlands) and Zoe Lister-Jones (New Girl, How It Ends).

When is A Good Person released?

A Good Person is scheduled to be released in UK cinemas in March 2023, ahead of a release on Sky Cinema in April 2023.

Is there a trailer for a Good Person?

You can watch the trailer here, where Daniel's voiceover can be heard saying, 'For the model train enthusiast, we lord over a world where the neighbours are always kind, the lovers always end up together, and the trains always take you to the far-off places you always swore you’d go. In life, of course, nothing is nearly as neat and tidy.'
