Last on our screens in the brilliant Anatomy of a Scandal, Sienna Miller's next big show is an Apple TV drama which explores how climate change will impact humanity, imagining how we will adapt to live and survive on Earth. Told via eight interconnected stories and set over a 33 years timespan (starting in 2037), Extrapolations is created by Scott Z. Burns, the man behind Contagion.

Here's everything you need to know about Extrapolations...

What is Extrapolations about?

More nuanced than the usual 'post-apocalyptic disaster' drama, Extrapolations introduces a near future where the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded in our everyday lives. The promo for the show says it will explore how 'love, work, faith and family from across the globe' is affected by a rapidly shifting environment, portraying 'the intimate, life-altering choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population'. Suffice to say, there is a strong message behind Extrapolations: the fate of humanity is up against a ticking clock.

Who's in the Extrapolations cast?

There's some serious Hollywood star power in this show. Alongside Sienna - who plays Rebecca Shearer a conservationist turned 'archivist' working with endangered species - episode one will feature Matthew Rhys, Kit Harington and Heather Graham. Meryl Streep joins for episode two, playing Sienna's on-screen mother (and voicing a humpback whale). Later on in the series Edward Norton, Gemma Chan, David Schwimmer, Forest Whitaker, Marion Cotillard, Tobey Maguire and The White Lotus' Murray Bartlett will all star. It's an A-list extravaganza.
