One celeb who has had a tricky start to her CBB experience is TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise. On last night's episode, Ella broke down in tears as she opened up to her fellow housemates Angellica Bell and JoJo Siwa about her split from TOWIE co-star Dan Edgar. So what happened?

Ella's breakup is still raw, and she told her fellow housemates that it happened just before she went into the house. 'I knew something wasn't right,' she said, before crying to Angellica and JoJo, who leaned in to comfort her. 'Thank you. It's just one of them things. I just feel like an idiot because everyone... I just knew he weren't going to be what I wanted him to be. And I thought maybe he might for me but he just... and I don't want to waste years trying to change someone do you know what I mean?'
In response, Angellica said 'But that just shows your strength,' to which Ella replied: 'Yeah, I just have to let it be. And it doesn't mean we can't be friends because we tried.'
How long were Ella Rae Wise and Dan Edgar together?
Ella Rae Wise and Dan Edgar first got together on The Only Way Is Essex during a trip to Bali at the start of the show's 33rd series in early 2024. However, it wasn't all plain sailing, with the couple breaking up and getting back together several times throughout the course of their relationship that year.
When Dan appeared on Dancing on Ice in January 2025, rumours started to swirl that the couple were back on, which Ella confirmed in February that year. However, the romance was short-lived with the couple calling it quits in April.
Why did Ella Rae Wise and Dan Edgar break up?
In an interview with The Sun ahead of her CBB appearance, Ella detailed the reasons behind her split with Dan. 'We are not together. And it's really, really sad that we're not together. We split up a week ago,' she told the publication. 'It has nothing to do with Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn't feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other. We can be best friends, but if something's missing, what are we wasting our time for?'
She continued: 'I just feel that he's very set in his ways and I can't change someone and I can't expect someone to change either. And if he's comfortable in how he is and if he thinks what he gives in a relationship is enough, that's okay because that can be enough for someone,' adding 'But it's just not enough for me.'
What has Dan Edgar said about Ella Rae Wise?
Dan has also addressed the shock break up with Ella. In an interview with The Sun, Dan said: 'The past week has seen a strange turn of events and things have been said that I didn’t really want to comment on. But, to put it straight, Ella and I agreed to go our separate ways amicably last week, and were speaking right up until she left to go into the house.'
He continued by saying he will be supportive of Ella's time in the CBB house: 'I think we both have our reasons for why it wasn’t working out, but there are certain things in life I would rather keep private. I wish her all the best and hope she enjoys her experience.'
