Welcome back dear readers. Lady Whistledown has blessed us with some important new gossip in the form of the Bridgeton Season 2trailer!
The new trailer was released on the show’s Instagram and Youtube account and the internet has gone into meltdown. The post is captioned, ‘Lady Whistledown's quill knows no loyalty, thus it is advised to guard one's secret with their life. Bridgerton returns March 25, 2022. Only on Netflix.' (eek!)
Many familiar faces appear on screen from Daphne, Anthony and Colin to Lady Whistledown herself. We also get out a closer look at the Sharmas - who will be the other leading family this season. We will be following Anthony Bridgerton this series, which is great but we will obviously miss our Duke Regé-Jean Page sobs. Well, don't just take our word for it, watch it for yourself:
What is season 2 of Bridgerton about?
Each book in the original Bridgerton novel series focuses on one of the Bridgerton children, however, the first season played around with the narrative - the identity of the mischievous gossip columnist has been revealed, despite the fact that it was a secret throughout the novels - and the show added new characters, so we don't know if they will go off book for future seasons too.
Using the books as a framework, though, we know that Anthony Bridgerton's quest for love will be the focus in season two, as the second book - The Viscount Who Loved Me - follows his story in particular.
We will also be introduced to a new leading family: the Sharma family includes Kate Sharma (Sex Education's Simone Ashley), her sister Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) and their mother Lady Mary Sharma (Shelley Conn). Kate Sharma is described as 'equal parts headstrong and whip-smart', while Edwina Sharma, is described as having 'been taught by her older sister to be the perfect debutante.'
