The nights are drawing in and the temperature is dropping (although, really, did it ever get that high?) — autumn is officially upon us, and with it comes some some amazing new TV. Candles and blankets at the ready; it’s time to get cosy.
First up, we have some incredible new series that we can’t wait to get our eyes on. Jodie Comer stars in Channel 4’s Help, a drama following the relationship between a carer and a patient at a care home in Liverpool in the Spring of 2020, which, in case you’ve forgotten, is when the Covid-19 pandemic began. Other can’t-miss newcomers include BBC’s Ridley Road, Netflix’s Colin in Black & White and ITV’s Angela Black.
This autumn also sees the return of some of our favourite TV series. Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston will star together again in series 2 of Apple TV’s The Morning Show and the Internet’s favourite stalker, Joe, is back to his old antics in series 3 of Netflix’s You — this time with a wife and baby in tow. Insecure is back for its final season and Shiv and her family are back for series 3 of Succession.
There really isn’t a better time of year to tuck into a new TV series. From haunting new dramas to the return of old favourites, here’s the best TV to watch this autumn.
