Who is Chase, Anna Delvey's boyfriend on Inventing Anna? Well, Anna is finally ready to let the world know who the character is actually based on. But she wants to be paid a large sum of money for it first. Posting on her Instagram story last night, Anna{ =nofollow}wrote: 'Want to know who the real "Chase" is? The media outlet with the highest bid gets the exclusive. Bid starts at $10k. DM to bid.' Let the bidding war commence...

Unlike the con artist's friends Neff andRachel - who are based on real people, and share the same names - Chase is a fictional character. Chase, played by Saamer Usmani from Succession{ =nofollow}, bonds with Anna due to their similar business instincts. While Anna is trying to build the Anna Delvey Foundation, Chase was working on his app, Wake, which promised 'dream-storing' technology. (We later find out in the series, that, like Anna, Chase gets into serious financial difficulty as his app crumbles, and he's unable to pay staff.)

However, some meticulous fans think they might have worked out who Chase is already... In the original article written by Jessica Pressler for The Cut, which Inventing Anna is based on, she makes reference to a 'futurist', which in the series is what Chase refers to himself as. This is why fans think the boyfriend might have been Hunter Lee-Soik, not only a man who invented an app to analyse dreams, but he also describes himself as a 'futurist'. To make matters more interesting, in the show, the couple go to Ibiza, and spend time on a lavish boat, and in a post on Anna's Instagram, dated back to 2014, there's a photo of Hunter on a yacht...

So, what's going on? Who knows, if an interested party coughs up the cash, we might all be proven wrong. After all, with Anna Delvey, nothing's ever for certain.
