Wait, Has Samantha Been Replaced With Stanford?!

We can't wait for And Just Like That to drop. As each day goes by, it seems we're treated to more fashionable ensembles from Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte - as Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. And, spoiler alerts incoming, but now we know more than what the cast will be wearing, as the script has apparently been leaked.

According to Page Six{ =nofollow}, Mr. Big and Carrie are no more, and in some scenes, Carrie - who is now a podcast host - will be complaining about her new life as a divorcee. One friend she will not be complaining to is Samantha though, AKA Kim Catterall, who has made no secret of the fact that she would never join another reunion. This means there's a space - and looking at new photos from set, Carrie's gay best friend Stanford - Willie Garson - seems to be sitting in her place.

So, what are they going to be chatting about? Apparently, in one scene, Carrie says: 'I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?' (Carrie was Big's third wife when they wed in the first film, as he was previously married to Barbara, played by Noelle Beck, and Natasha Naginsky, Bridget Moynahan.)

Though Kim will be absent - sob - joining the cast will be Sara Ramírez - who will play a nonbinary queer comedian who hosts another podcast.- Nicole Ari Parker, Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman. Of course, the reason Kim probably doesn't wish to revisit the series - which aired from 1998–2004 - is because of her very public feud with Sarah. Their falling out became incredibly public in 2018, following reports Kim's brother had died, when SJP shared her condolences with her former castmate in an Instagram comment. This did not go down well with Kim, who responded in a separate post. 'Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now,' she wrote. ‘Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already). You are not my family. You are not my friend.'

Kim reportedly stalled the discussions for a third SATC movie after she told Warner Bros. she would only appear in the film if the studio produced films she had in development, which it refused to do.

We still don't know when the ten episodes of And Just Like That are set to air, but as filming has already begun. hopefully we won't have too much longer to wait.
