Sometimes, the casting team on Sex And The City like to recycle previous actors. Justin Theroux briefly spoke to Carrie in one scene during season one, only to return - with a shaved head - as her boyfriend Vaughn Wysel in season two. In fact, remembering his time on the series, Justin later joked: 'It's about girls who are dating all the time, you burn through every single male actor in New York.'

Well, it turns out the reboot is no different, and they really might have burned through every male actor in New York, as eagle-eyed fans noticed that Seema's dad looked familiar. Yep, they're back to recycling actors again! You might remember Ajay Mehta appeared way back in season one, as the bus boy who offered to 'go home' with Samantha after she was stood up on a date. Samantha didn't go home with him, but she did kiss him, as Carrie said in her voiceover: 'Samantha let the Pakistani bus boy kiss her – after all, he’d been so sweet and attentive with the bread.'

'This is everything,' one fan commented on everyoutfitonsatc's Instagram post, pointing out the casting, 'it saved me a trip to IMBD to figure out where I knew Seema's dad from.' And another joked, 'Just proves that Samantha really did “know” every man in Manhattan!' Miranda herself, Cynthia Nixon, (who directed the episode of AJLT Ajay appeared in) commented: 'Good eye'.

The reappearance of Ajay does raise one question though: is the man Samantha kissed and Seema's dad the same character? Well, it's unlikely, as Seema's parents met through an arranged marriage - probably meaning he would have been married at the time - and Seema's family are Indian, whereas Carrie noted that the bus boy was Pakistani. So it really does look like the SATC casting team were trying to pull a Justin Theroux on us again. There really is nothing better than the The Sex And The City Cinematic Universe.
