We and everyone we know went into a frenzied celebration when the news broke last month that And Just Like That would be returning for a second season. Yes, open the confetti canons, queue the marching band, the Sex And The City reboot has been confirmed for a second series by the showrunner Michael Patrick King.

'I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters — played by these powerful, amazing actors,’ he told Variety. ‘The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just like That … our Sex life is back.'

'We have been delighted by the cultural conversation generated by these characters and their stories, set in a world we already know and love so much,’ added Sarah Aubrey, the head of original content at HBO Max. ‘We are proud of the work Michael Patrick King and our wonderful writers, producers, cast and crew have done to bring these stories to the screen. We can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store for Season 2!'

So, just which characters are coming back for the second season of the show? There’s still speculation about Samanthamaking a reappearance (please, we’re begging) and questions over whether Aidan will ever actually appear.

But in an unexpected turn of events, we could also see Jennifer Hudson slip back into her Sex And The City character for the second season of the reboot.

In case you can't remember, Hudson first entered the Sex And The City universe when she played Carrie’s supportive personal assistant, Louise from St. Louis, in the 2008 film. And, according to an anonymous tip-off to the showbiz Instagram account Deuxmoi, she could be about to make a comeback.

‘J[ennifer] Hudson’s character Louise in SATC is allegedly being considered for season 2 of AJLT,’ the message read. ‘And_spoiler spoiler spoiler_ the nice innocent girl from St Louis that Carrie met is gone gone.’ Huge news if true.

Judging by Hudson’s previous comments about resurrecting her SATC character, an AJLT appearance could definitely be on the cards: ‘That would be cool,’ she told Entertainment Tonight of a possible role in the reboot. ‘I’m down.’
