If we had to guess which dates are the most romantic in the calendar, New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day would be sure-fire candidates. But a new study conducted by Interflora has revealed that this isn't necessarily the case...

Although the predictable days proved popular, there was another date which gained the top spot.

Today, 25th June, is the most romantic day of the year according to the results. The flower company drew to the conclusion after analysing more than 1,500 unmarried couples in the UK's plans to propose.

And today's date of course lies in the heart of holiday season so it seems summer love may have some scientific proof behind it, after all...

But which date is the most avoided when it comes to popping the big question? Well, the survey revealed that the least popular proposal date is October 9th so maybe think twice before planning to pop the question on an autumnal Monday evening.

The survey also revealed some interesting stats around dating in the UK. According to Interflora, only 30 percent of women would feel comfortable proposing to their partner while it takes approximately two years and six months to get engaged.

So make sure you're prepared today in case your partner pops the big question. Just make sure to seem surprised...
