Parenting is not for the faint of heart. It is all-consuming in so many ways, demanding your time, patience, unconditional love and a whole lot of sleepless nights. Of course, it's also a truly wonderful thing, with many highs to (hopefully) help balance out the lower points. What is certain, however, is that it can be tricky to find even five minutes to yourself. So, we thought we'd give you the gift of time. Sort of.

The internet is a saturated space, particularly when it comes to shopping. Short of scrolling endlessly through new-in sections online to find the best new fashion, beauty and homeware buys, how do you even really find exciting new things that give you a bit of a boost after a particularly gruelling week? Well, to make your life easier, we've curated an edit of our favourite products across these categories which we hope you'll love. And we've even found the things to make your job, as a parent, easier.

From gadgets to help even the most boring of tasks to childrenswear that's stylish and affordable, we've found the things that you might have missed, freeing you of the burden of endless scrolling. We've also thrown in some wear-everywhere dresses, face-saving beauty buys and chic things to fill your home, which will make you feel like you have some control over your interiors, even when your house is full of toys.

An essential for any festival kit if you're taking children with you, these foldable headphones offer safe protection to prevent any hearing damage in loud environments. Obviously perfect for a festival, they can also be used in any context where you think your kids might be subjected to loud noises, while some parents have said they can help improve focus and concentration for their children. My friend Charlotte took her one year old to a festival recently and said this was about the best thing she could have bought for the occasion. It has a three-in-one design, meaning you can use it for hauling, two-rider seating and even as bench seating – you can easily switch between them with side zippers. It comes with seat belts for safety, plus the canopy offers UV protection. It's collapsible, has great storage and is easy to transport, too. As a handy tip, Charlotte said she put fairy lights on it at night so that it was easily visible.

If you can't face a bumbag or just need more storage that most offer, this quilted style from Damson Madder is an ideal alternative. You can wear it cross-body, so you remain hands-free or as a shoulder bag. It has a zip closure, will carry all of the things you need on-the-go and just looks great, too.

Another tip I've heard from friends who have taken children to a festival or even on a day trip is that stackable snack containers are a life saver. This set of three is leak-proof and easy to store, featuring a sweet design on the front.

Looking after children never leaves you with much time to get ready or think about what you're wearing, especially when you're in the context of a festival, where getting dressed is fairly tricky at the best of times. So, you need something you can throw on, knowing it will make you feel great and suit the occasion. This dress from Oliver Bonas will do that – it's comfortable enough to wear all day, plus it'll look equally great with sandals, trainers or wellies, depending on the weather.

Whether you're going away or staying in the UK this summer, finding great swimwear for kids isn't always easy. This set from Boden, however, isn't just fun and practical, it also provides protection from the sun which is the equivalent of UPF 40. So, they can play on the beach to their heart's content without you having to worry – beyond applying actual SPF, of course – unduly. The sizes available range from 12 months to 8 years.

If you're not yet familiar with Nobody's Child dresses, they're some of the most versatile on the market. Whether you need something you can easily dress up for weddings and events or you're just in the market for something to make you feel great which doesn't require a whole lot of effort, this dress is just that. Wear with trainers if you're in the latter camp or try strappy heels for the former.

In case you missed it, Waitrose launched a new shopping tote designed by Lulu Guinness this week. Last year's bag was so popular, it sold out within days of launching, with people hailing it as the ideal beach bag. This year's style features a checkerboard print with Lulu Guinness's signature lips motif on one side. At just £12, you'll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on one.

Wearing SPF every day, regardless of the weather, really is the best thing you can do for your skin. Finding the right one, however, can be tricky, especially as it's a saturated market. Clinique's Superdefense City Block is one of the best. It offers full SPF 50 protection, plus it is slightly tinted so makes skin look glowy. Jess Barrett, Grazia's assistant editor, has been using it for a couple of weeks now and says it's so good, she's had endless compliments about her skin. 'It's great for making you look a lot less tired and more radiant,' she says.

In case you hadn't heard, everyone's wearing PJ-style trousers by day, which is great news for anyone pressed for time when getting ready in the mornings. This Arket pair is particularly chic – they're currently on sale and there's even a matching shirt if you wanted to rock the perfect summer co-ord.

I am really lazy when it comes to moisturising and have always been this way. Then I found this Curél spray and, I have to say, it's nothing short of a miracle product. After showering (when you're dry), you simply spray this all over legs, arms, shoulders – anywhere you like – and hey presto, you've moisturised. It has Micro-Ceramide particles which penetrate deeply into the skin to effectively improve skin moisture level and it sinks in quickly, so it takes next to no time at all. You can even use it on your face, under or over make-up, when you feel you need a hit of hydration.

It's probably all we can talk about but the summer is not exactly shaping up to be a scorcher. It's rainy, windy and pretty cold most of the time, then fairly hot the next minute. With children, this is a nightmare to navigate, which is why Jess Barrett, Grazia's assistant editor, has just bought this sweet raincoat from M&S for her little boy. 'It's lightweight, so I can just shove it in my bag when we go out and know that, if the heavens open, at least he won't get soaked. Depressing to have to buy this in late June but I'd rather be prepared.'

New Balance has just expanded its Made in UK range to include three new versions of its 1500, 576 and 991 styles. Available as of 13th June, these are already selling fast thanks to their vintage vibes and brilliant craftsmanship – each pair of trainers in the Made in UK offering is produced in New Balance's factory in Flimby, Cumbria. The off-white colour makes these shoes ideal for styling with summer dresses as you go from the school run to work meetings and beyond.
