When it comes to some parenting 'real talk', you can always rely on Stacey Solomon - and it was no different this morning as she sent her boys, Zachary, 12, and Leighton, 8, to school for the first time in six months.
Doing a teary series of videos to camera, Stacey, told her followers: 'We did it and we did it for six bloody months! Cheers!' Before saying she was doing to have some tea and a Daim to 'drown her sorrows'.
Stacey had started her prep earlier this week and has been discussing her conflicted feelings about the boys returning after lockdown - excited, but also sad thinking about all the great times they'd had together. Like most parents, she expressed the gamut of emotions everyone has been going through this week at the school drop-off.
Stacey posted a series of Instagram stories last night of her preparations, saying, 'I'm actually so emotional right now it's silly. I don't know if I'm relieved or absolutely gutted.'
She then posted a series of black and white videos of all the memories the family have had together - along with partner Joe Swash and their one-year-old son, Rex.
TBH, it was enough to get us crying before we'd even reached the gates with our own children.
Capturing the complicated emotions, she wrote: ‘But now it’s time to go back to school. Not just for you but for mummy - she’s knackered. I hope you have the best day… we love you both to the moon and stars and back again. We will miss you but we know it’s so important for you to be back with your friends and learning. Have fun pickles.’
Then, after drop-off this morning, Stacey posted a series of videos in tears, bless her - and we felt it! She also paid tribute to all her parent followers, saying: 'I can’t stop thinking about how long it’s been. It’s been six months.
'We did it and we did it for six bloody months! Cheers!
'And they’re in, they’re gone! I don’t know if I’m relieved or what. It’s such a weird feeling. I’m going to make myself a cup of tea and drown my sorrows.
'I hope you’re all ok. I can’t stop thinking about everyone who’s been in lockdown and some people on their own and single parents and people without friends and family and stuff and I just think you’re amazing I don’t know how you did it. I take my hat off to you. You bloody smashed it. Cheers!'
Cheers!
