‘Is it just me, or is the interior of Rihanna’s house completely not what you’d expect?’ a friend text me this morning. ‘I’ve just seen it online and it’s a lot of grey velvet and zebra-print.’
Looking at the pictures yourself, you may agree. At least, many others online do. The interior of Rihanna’s London home went viral after being shared by luxury real estate company Beauchamp’s Estate’s. Now back on the market, it seems the singers two-and-a-half-year stint living in the UK may be over. Or at the very least, she’s moving out of St John’s Wood.
The eight-bedroom property rented by Rihanna at an eye-watering £18,000 per week is now on sale for £32million. The North London home is gated with parking of up to 10 cars and includes two entire floors just for entertaining. So, where was our invite to the party, Rih?
The house includes six bathrooms, a gym and media room, plus reports say that the interiors shown online are exactly what Rihanna lived with. That’s right, not only can you now live in – or at least, view and pretend you’re rich enough to rent it – Rihanna’s house, you can rest your head on the same couch she relaxed on between A-list dinners and studio sessions (the house is moments from Abbey Road, giving us hope of a new album any day now.)
With grey walls, silver and gold décor and plush velvet furnishings, it’s an interior design Mrs Hinch followers would dream of. Which begs the question, is Rihanna actually Mrs Hinch’s biggest fan? Take a look and judge for yourself, even with the added touch of colour, you just can’t deny the influence…

Whether or not the interior is to your taste, it’s worth bearing in mind Rihanna may not have decorated the house herself. As we’ve learned from our extensive binge-watching of Selling Sunset, houses are staged by the real estate agency for new clients. Plus, even if we are seeing the exact nude curtains Rihanna opened to gaze upon London’s rainy mornings with, it’s likely the furniture came with renting the house so isn’t necessarily what she’d do herself.
Either way, fans seem to be treating the furnishings like marmite. Much like Mrs Hinch’s taste, you either love or hate it. And with Rihanna on Mrs Hinch’s side, you know where we sit. Yes, it’s on her crushed-velvet ottoman.
