Nicki Minaj simply cannot stop trending. After receiving backlash for a series of tweets implying she was hesitant about receiving the coronavirus vaccine, the rapper has now found herself in a feud with Boris Johnson. Okay, feud might be dramatic, but being dissed by Boris Johnson has to make it into some sort of Hip Hop Hall of Feuding Fame.

It began when Nicki tweeted that she wanted to do her own research before deciding whether to get the covid vaccine, causing a shitstorm of memes, trolling and on the flip side, encouraging educational information.

Boris referenced her tweets in his 4pm coronavirus briefing today, saying: ‘I’m not as familiar with the works of Nicki Minaj as I probably should be, but I am familiar with the work of [Dr] Nikki Kanani, who is a superstar GP of Bexley who will tell you that vaccines are wonderful and everybody should get them, so I would prefer to listen to her.’

Nicki since responded with a diss of her own, putting on a British accent and trolling the prime minister in a voice note posted on Twitter.

With near 7,000 quote tweets, the voice note is going viral as people react to one might be the strangest interaction we’ve ever seen on social media.

'Do you ever just stop and think that maybe we all are actually living through some sort of dream sequence?' one Twitter user said.

It might not be over either, Nicki shared a tweet with the caption ‘thinking about the bars Nicki will split about this’, implying we may even get a reference to Boris in one of her future songs.

In fact if we could hope for anything it would be an entire Boris diss track. A series of Nicki Minaj vs Boris Johnson tracks to close out an incredibly boring summer? It might just save our year… although no one needs to hear Boris Johnson rap let's be honest.
