That's right, we're about to see two of our favorite women-on-the-screen unite for a project and naturally with their combined talent, it's bound to be a work of genius. It's no wonder that there was a big bidding war for the pitch, eventually won by Universal Pictures who are now reportedly developing the comedy with Mindy Kaling.
With everything under wraps, not a whole lot is known about the film yet (other than Priyanka Chopra will obviously be wearing something incredible to the premier because that's just her thing - remember all the different wedding dresses?) But here's what's been confirmed about it so far...

The plot will center around a big Indian wedding (which as we know based on her nuptials - plural - to Nick Jonas, Priyanka already has some experience in). It's been described as Crazy Rich Asians meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and it'll take place in India and America.
Although Mindy Kaling will be writing alongside Dan Goor (one of the brains behind_Brooklyn Nine-Nine_) she'll also be starring with Priyanka Chopra. We predict it'll be a comedy pairing like cheese to wine...
What Are Mindy Kaling's Most Recent Projects?
Of course, it will come as no surprise to Mindy Kaling fans that she's got a new film in the works because, there's no two ways of putting it: the write/actor/comedian on fire at the moment.
She already has a comedy called Late Night coming out with Amazon on the 7th of June (which the company paid $13 Million for). She's also currently making_Four Weddings And A Funeral_into a TV series with Matt Warbuton (who helped mastermind_The Mindy Project_). However it's a while since we've seen Mindy on screen - the last film she starred in was_Ocean's Eight_in June 2018.
When Will It Be Out?
