McDonald’s have announced that all of the 15 restaurants they’re reopening are in the south of England, prompting some passionate responses.
Social media was thrilled last week when McDonald’s announced they’d be reopening a small selection of outlets, offering a restricted menu for delivery, on 13 May. But most of the country seemed furious this morning, when McDonald’s announced which stores would reopen.
The stores are all in the south of England and several are clumped together.
The town of Chelmsford in Essex is now trending on Twitter as two of the restaurants are there. And as some residents have pointed out, the Borehamwood brand that’s reopening is also very close by.
We're into the fact that one Twitter user even went on Google Maps to prove her point to Ronald McDonald.
Other jubilant towns included Luton and Gillingham...
On the whole though, most people were furious that everywhere apart from the south east was missing out.
However, whoever is (BLESS THEM) managing the McDonald's Twitter account today tried to answer Big Mac fans and explain that it was to do with restarting the supply chain close to their distribution centres.
No wonder everyone has reacted so badly. Since McDonald's announced on Friday they'd be reopening some restaurants and released the menu, fans have been endlessly speculating online about what they're going to eat first.
Finally, and just so you're up to date with ALL McDonald's news possible, the company today also announced that they 'will add the Vegetable Deluxe to the menu and Veggie Dippers to both our main menu and Happy Meal.'
Ok, and NOW we're hungry...
