It’s been reported that Prince Harry is already on his way back to California after his car was spotted leaving London straight after King Charles III coronation at Westminster Abbey. Prince Harry was seen getting into a car coming out of the church, which was later spotted heading in the direction of Heathrow Airport.

It comes after keen-eyed lip readers noticed that the Duke of Sussex told Jack Brooksbank he would be 'heading off' as they took their seats inside Westminster Abbey, before saying the words 'airport' and '3.45pm'. Coronation at 1pm, flight to Cali at 4pm… just a normal life for a royal hey?

Of course, many are surprised that Prince Harry isn’t staying for the whole coronation weekend (although it’s not yet confirmed that he’s left the country) and at the very least expected to see him on the Buckingham Palace balcony. But as per royal protocol, Harry couldn’t appear on the balcony since stepping back as a senior royal – which you can read more about here.

After an admittedly awkward entrance to the church, Prince Harry put on a jovial display at the coronation, appearing emotional as he sang ‘God Save The King’. During the coronation, a Sky News narrator told their viewers ‘The Palace have told us that Prince Harry has been invited back to Buckingham Palace this afternoon. They would not say whether he has said yes or not, we know it's a flying visit.'

Reporter Kay Burley later said the invitation was to 'lunch.' So perhaps Harry was invited to be a part of the family proceedings but wanted to get back to California quickly given its his son’s birthday today. Archie Mountbatten turns four years old today, with Meghan Markle staying back in Los Angeles with the family in order to celebrate the big occasion. It’s perhaps no surprise then that he’s keen to return for his son’s birthday… get you a man who can do both, right?
