That’s it, the year has been saved because Cousin Greg from Succession has released a song which is going to be the soundtrack to our summer.

If it’s sweet escape from coronavirus you’re after then look away now, because the anthem is called Antibodies (Do You Have The) and is about the difficulties of datingduring the pandemic.

Somebody get this man a Grammy, because the masterpiece includes the profound and poetic lyrics: ‘Do you have the antibodieeees? Do you want to be with me?’ and ‘Can you find a testing siiiiite, before you spend the niiiiight?’

The video shows him dramatically drenching himself in hand sanitiser (in slow motion, of course) and wearing various bandanas as face masks, as he parodies skater punk/rock bands and jumps around with an electric guitar.

The song came about after Nicolas Braun, aka Cousin Greg, had been quarantining with friends in May.

‘My friends are a couple and they’ve been together for years, but I was back there sort of being like, “Man, I wish I had somebody right now to go through this with,”' he told Rolling Stone. ‘And so this girl and I were talking and we were like, “Maybe we should go meet up and go for a walk — with bandanas on.” So I went on this quarantine date; it sort of felt secret because I didn’t want my friends to know. And I guess the combination of paranoia and romance is what the song is about.’

He put out a ‘call to the wild’ on Instagram for inspiration, which was met with an influx of responses from his musically-minded followers – some of whom make an appearance at the beginning of the video. It was even picked up by record label Atlantic Records, who transformed it into a professionally produced song and music video, according to Rolling Stone.

Proceeds from the song will go to nonprofits COPE and Partners in Health.

It’s been a big week for Nicholas as the 32-year-old actor was also nominated for an Emmy for an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

When his publicist told him the news his reaction was to say: “No, no, no, you're kidding me.” I just kept saying, "You're kidding me," like 20 times,' he told E! news.

Well, we always believed in him. And now he has proved he’s also a musical genius with many strings to bow. So, go forth, Succession enthusiasts, and share a link to the song with everyone you know who has a Cousin Greg shaped hole in their lives right now.
