Last night, Charlotte Crosby announced she is pregnant in an emotional Instagram post. The 31-year-old reality star shared a heart-warming video with followers that showed the first moments she and boyfriend Jake Ankers found out they were expecting. Now, Charlotte is trending on Twitter and Google as fans celebrate the news.
For those who have followed Charlotte’s well-documented life, the moment is particularly meaningful. In 2016, Charlotte suffered an ectopic pregnancy – where the foetus develops outside the womb – and had to have her right fallopian tube and ovary removed after suffering internal bleeding. At the time, Charlotte spoke out about the traumatic effect the experience had on her, saying she thought she would never be able to have children herself after that.
‘I was literally on the verge of dying,’ Charlotte said on Geordie Shore: Their Story last year. ‘If I'd left it any longer I just wouldn’t be here…the gynaecologist came in and told us that I had had my right fallopian tube and ovary taken away. Straight away I just thought, “F**k I’m not gonna be able to have kids”, like, this is awful.’
In YouTube video on Charlotte’s channel, she celebrated the pregnancy news with family but confessed to viewers that she was nervous about the public reaction. ‘I don’t even know what the reaction is going to be, I just hope everyone is nice. This is going to be a really nerve-wracking time,’ she said.
Of course, for fans of Charlotte the reaction has been incredible. Countless people have shared their joy for her knowing how difficult her journey with reproductive health has been – and for women that have had similar experiences, Charlotte’s pregnancy is even more inspiring.
And now, everyone has tons of questions about her new partner Jake. In fact, ‘Who is Charlotte Crosby’s boyfriend?’ is a breakout search term on Google.
Who is Charlotte Crosby’s boyfriend?
While the couple only went Instagram official in January this year, they have already hinted at engagement plans in a video on Instagram where Jake said a proposal was coming in ‘due course’. Jake hasn’t been in the public eye himself for long and so little is known about his background, but the Manchester-native appears to be involved in restaurant FoodWell, bar Firefly as well as luxury chauffer service Streamline Executive. He has near 11,000 followers on Instagram and includes lifestyle accounts for trips to Manchester and London in his bio.
