Speaking on ITV's This Morning, Charlie Brooks, aka Janine Butcher - murderer of Barry - has confirmed that she has designed and launched a vibrator in collaboration with Ann Summers.

'I was approaching my 40th birthday and as an actress you can spend a lot of time uninspired, so I got a business coach... I started to have ideas. Creativity was starting to flow out of me. I remembered having a conversation with someone about the clitoris - which I didn't realise was in the shape of a wishbone - that stuck with me.

I woke up in the middle of the night about four years ago and went, "Why isn't there a vibrator that surrounds the clitoris, it surrounds the vulva, it doesn't penetrate?"

I ordered some clay - I started making it round my kitchen table.'

The result is The U, which is designed 'to cradle not penetrate'. According to the product description, 'The U Self Love Stimulator uses layering technology that surrounds the pleasure point with deep ripples of vibration.'

Charlie explained on Instagram that 'I had an idea a while back. 4 years to be precise. I didn’t think I would ever be able to see it through. My inner voice asking what do you know about anything? Why would anybody invest in you? You could never pull off something like this..I thanked that irritating little devil on my shoulder for showing up and I politely told it to F*** OFF.'
