Carrie Johnson has announced on her Instagram that she and husband Boris are expecting a second child in December. She also told her followers she had a miscarriage at the start of this year, which had left her ‘heartbroken’.
The 33-year-old posted a photo of a Christmas tree bauble of a pram and wrote: ‘Hoping for our rainbow baby this Christmas.’
‘I feel incredibly blessed to be pregnant again but I’ve also felt like a bag of nerves. Fertility issues can be really hard for many people, particularly when on platforms like Instagram it can look like everything is only ever going well,' she went on.
‘I found it a real comfort to hear from people who had also experienced loss so I hope that in some very small way sharing this might help others too.’
Carrie and Boris already have a son together called Wilfred, who was born in April last year at the height of the first wave of the pandemic. The Prime Minister has at least five other children.
