Britney Spears has been getting fans excited for potential new music this week, posting a video to Instagram showing off her vocal abilities. The 40-year-old pop icon wrote in a now-deleted caption that she was working on new music and had realised after her conservatorship ordeal that she ‘needed to be [her] own cheerleader.’

With that in mind, Britney said that she had been reading up on herself in order to remember her greatest achievements.

‘Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning pop icon Britney Spears is one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 100 million records sold worldwide,’ Britney read from her RCA Records artist biography. ‘In the U.S. alone, she has sold more than 70 million albums, singles and songs, according to Nielsen Music.

‘I’m not auditioning for anything,’ she continued according to Variety who reported the caption. ‘I’m reminding myself and the world of who I am!!!! Yes … I will be my own cheerleader.’

Her post has been celebrated by fans, many happy to see that she’s boosting her self-esteem with the memory of her illustrious career. After all, the popstar has 13 top 10 hits and has won a grand total of 376 awards for her contributions to music. In fact, it goes to show that if a legend like Britney Spears needs to be reminded of her greatest achievements, we could all take a leaf out of her book.
