I know this might come as a shock, but this weekend on the 30th of March we officially hit British Summer Time. Which means that after what feels like months and months and months of wearing everything that is waterproof, lined, wind-proof, puddle-proof we can break out fashion choices that don't feel as if they were made to fend off an avalanche. All hail the arrival of proper spring! (And we are, of course, all running for the rosé in celebration).
But as we know: now can be a tricky time sartorially. While the clouds have parted, it's still not quite time to divorce ourselves from our sleeves or throw away every pair of tights that we own. To quote one of my favoured Miss Congeniality moments 'It's not to hot, not too cold! All you need is a light jacket'. But while it might be easy to find casual wear that fits that criteria (hello gingham Zara blouse that's been patiently waiting at the back of my wardrobe, I've been waiting for you) finding workwear options that fit the same bracket is trickier.
What exactly doubles as an anorak and a smart jacket for a meeting? Where does one find a pair of boots that are appropriate for the office and also for when the 155 to Brixton helpfully spatters you with a puddle? Fear not - we've curated stylish spring workwear options that are as well suited to the sunnier days as they are to every unexpected gust of wind and shower of rain that is inevitably around the the corner.
