Last year, I fell hard for the suede jacket trend. And with so many options to choose from, of course I wasn't the only one. The thing is, though, I told myself I wasn't going to ever get one. Because as someone who likes to steam everything until it's pristine and wash my clothes (even jeans) more than I should, I'm not one for high-maintenance items. So in my head, specialist clean-only suede got a no from me. That's until I saw this Mango chocolatey brown real suedejacket that became my entire autumn personality. I would say I ended up wearing it about 3 or 4 times a week, so much so, at a few work events people would comment, "ah, you're wearing that amazing Mango jacket, again" and "you've reminded me to get that jacket, it's so good". I even had a few people track it down online and buy it there and then. It was by far my most complimented item of 2024, and you bet I'll be digging it back out to see another season.
So you can imagine my excitement when I headed to the Mango 'new in' section to see not one, but two new colours of my beloved suede style – and the new khaki and black are currently, as I type, still available in all sizes XXS-XXL. The chocolate brown didn't take long to go viral on Titkok, though, soon selling out, so you'll have to be quick to get this dream jacket the second time round.

I'm seeing a lot of olive and khaki shades coming through already for autumn, so I know this will be a good colour to invest in. And the best part is, it works with pretty much any colour – from cream and black to pink and orange.

The fact is, though, a black jacket will never fail so it'll always be the most timeless option to opt for. I would style this one buttoned to the top with ecru jeans and brown suede loafers.
When it comes to sizing, I'm a UK 10, and I chose to get it in a large. A medium would have also worked but I wanted to make sure I could wear it over layers throughoutautumn and winter. And I also liked the way it looked more fitted when done up as a top and slightly more oversized when worn open.
So how did I get over the how to clean a suede jacket hurdle? To keep suede (I also love this Massimo Dutti style) looking its best, if there's ever any signs of dirt or marks, I use a soft suede brush to gently buff them out rather than getting it wet. Which leads me to the most important tip: don't wear it in the rain. There's nothing that ruins real suede more than an unexpected downpour, so either keep it at home or take an extra coat – trust me, it'll never be the same after it's soaked.

When it comes to ways to style this particular Mango jacket, I've worn mine my with everything from chinos to mini skirts, but I also love how the likes of @carlabelleeee has worn hers with an all-black look. See, black and brown do work together.
I still think this is the best suede jacket around, so instead of showing you more, here's some of the best new in Mango pieces I also have on my wish list after spotting them on my search to buy the khaki and black iteration. And there's everything from suede loafers to the leopard print scarf blouse I know will go viral next.

In brown or cream, I want both. I like the slightly higher neckline and how effortless it would look tucked into a pair of wide-leg trousers with a pointed-toe boot poking out from underneath.

I saw this animal print textured jacket IRL last week, and I haven't stopped thinking about it. I know it's a bit of a splurge, but I can imagine that it would takeover as my most complimented item.

I'm in the market for a new denim shirt, and I think this one looks so premium with its contrast stitch detail. I'll be belting it over a midi skirt with Western boots.

Even though I warmed to the suede loafer trend last year, I didn't end up getting a pair, so this season I'll be getting ahead. No doubt I'll be wearing them with jeans and a cashmere knit.

The shape, the colour – pure perfection coming in from this Mango bag. The silver zip looks so chic on both the beige and chocolate brown.

Long necklaces are key this season, and the high street is pulling through with so many styles that look more expensive than they are. To keep it as part of the boho aesthetic, wear it with a ruffle blouse and indigo jeans.

We've seen scarf dresses, coats and jackets – now, it's time for the blouse. Keep a lookout for necklines with this detail, it's such an easy way to make the once dated style feel new.
